How to find us:

We are based at Hinton in the Hedges airfield near between Banbury and Brackley. Just a few minutes from the M40, access is easy from as far a field as London or Birmingham, and the club is about 40 minutes from Milton Keynes, Northampton or Oxford. Entry is from the A422, ignore signs for Hinton in the Hedges village.

From the South:

From the M40 Junction 10 (Cherwell Valley Services), travel on the A43 dual carriageway towards Brackley, and follow the directions below from Brackley

From the East:

From the M1, exit at Junction 15A (Rothersthorpe Services / A43) and travel on the A43 dual carriageway to Brackley, and follow the directions below from Brackley.

From Brackley:

Take the A422 towards Banbury. Approximately 3 miles out of Brackley you will come to a left turn for the airfield, signposted ‘Hinton Airfield’. If you enter Farthinghoe village you have gone too far by a few hundred metres.

From the North:

Exit the M40 at Junction 11 (Banbury). Take the A422 towards Brackley. Once you have passed through the Farthinghoe village slow down as the turn to the airfield is approaching on the right, signposted ‘Hinton Airfield'.

The road taking you to the airfield is single track and has a sharp left then right turn half way along, so please drive carefully. The road reaches the airfield after a little under 1.5 miles.

From the Airfield Entrance:

Take extreme care as the airfield has various aviation activities in addition to the gliding club, including parachutists and light aircraft which may take off, land, or taxi around the airfield’s operational areas without warning.

Proceed with care slowly along the rather rough road until you reach the end of a disused runway (wide potholed concrete area), turn left and make your way along this until the first right turning where normally there are cars parked; this car park is shared between us and other airfield users - you can leave you car here.

Our club house is on the left hand end of the building you see looking from the car park. At the Clubhouse announce yourself or if there is no one present, and the gliders are already on the airfield, ring the mobile phone number printed clearly on the clubhouse door (07981 103159) and a member will come to collect you.
